Each Spun Yarn SmartStart Report consists of three core components – Flash Feedback, Qualitative Feedback, and Quantitative Feedback. 

Flash Feedback: At the halfway and ending point in the excerpt, Spun Yarn Readers provide input on the reading experience. Flash Feedback provides excellent insight into what readers are thinking in real time as they read a manuscript.

Qualitative Feedback: Spun Yarn readers provide feedback on what they thought were the best aspects of the excerpt, whether or not they would keep reading, and why. Authors also pose two questions directly to Spun Yarn readers, which are answered in this section of the Manuscript Report.

Quantitative Feedback: In this third section of the report, readers provide a numerical score of your novel on a scale of 1 -10 in three key categories (In a Complete Report, they score eight categories). By focusing on trends, correlations, and deviations in this quantitative data, the Spun Yarn is able to provide clear insight into the strengths and improvement areas in a manuscript.
